I received a small GE (Jasco) alarm system package that I’d like to use with my Vera 3. This includes the 45132 motion detector and 45131 magnetic window / door sensors.
I tried to pair the motion sensor with the Vera by pressing the white button in the battery compartment of the motion sensor but it is not discovered by Vera.
Any chance these devices can be used with Vera? (I did not see them specifically on the supported hardware list but a lot of other similar, same family GE devices are.)
I’m not 100% but I think those belong to the choice alert family of alarms and I think it will only communicate with a choice alert base maybe it will work with other ademco stuff but I’m sure it won’t talk to Vera. It’s pretty safe to say that if it doesn’t have the “I speak zwave” logo it’s not going to learn in like regular zwave light switches
Looking up the FCC ID on the 45132 motion sensor I find that it is an Part 15 device that operates on 318 MHz - hence not Z-Wave (unfortunately). Reading the test documents for FCC certification looks like this indeed is a proprietary system; the sensors will only work with the (included) base unit.
you can use triggers off the board if the base unit with arduino to run scenes in Vera depending on how bad you want to use those motions it might be worth the trouble to you
