My new construction house is completely zwave controlled; every outlet, switch and dimmers.
About 6 months after construction the GE dimmers (purchased during RS clearance sale) are starting to fail randomly. The zwave and dimmer control functions are working, but no power output.
Have anyone experienced the same?
Have anyone attempted to replace the output driver, or do they become throw-aways?
I have 40+ GE dimmers and I havent had any fail without cause… I have had several fail with cause… somehow my ground got voltage on it and it fried an GE switch nearby… The zwave would work fine but would no longer control the lights. Could this have been a lighting surge on the ground for your switches?

Very likely. I live in a region with frequent thunderstorms and have above ground power lines. Same symptom – z-wave works fine but the lights no longer work.

Been contemplating a ground surge protector for the whole house… Might be worth it.
