Has Anyone gotten the GE Z-Wave Wireless Keypad Controller (SKU: 45631) to pair with Vera UI4 Beta as a secondary controller and gotten it to turn on and off lights and scenes? I have had a few of these for a month or so and no matter what, I can pair it as a secondary controller, but I can’t get it to work with Vera as the primary and it wont do anything.
I have another test network that uses a GE Jasco remote as the primary and when I use this test network, I can pair the wireless keypad as a secondary and it works perfectly to turn on and off devices
Any help would be appreciated…this is driving me nuts and I seem to think its UI4 causing all the issues…
Thanks Barry, I’ve tried all that but will exclude it and try again. Im glad to see others have this working. When you add the event, I assume it’s button 1, 2, 3, 4 that you assign to trigger the event? I’ve tried this with the minimote from Aeon and got nowhere…yet it works with other GE remotes
You have to make sure that the 45631 is in Scene mode and not Group mode when you press the buttons to have Vera watch for. I have the minimote working as well and had to use the same process. You cannot have them control locks however.
I have the same problem with the GE 45641. I have UI4 on VERA 2. I can see the controller as a device. I assign scenes to buttons 1 & 2 via the event funtion on each scene. The buttons blink when pressed (controller scene mode) but nothing happens to the scene devices. I have tried running the wizzard for adding a wireless controller again (wo deleting). Still no luck.
Thought I would revive this old thread rather than making a new one.
I’m also having a problem with the GE 45631, but I am using Vera-1 on UI2 (1.0.979). Like above, I am able to add the controller to Vera, but Scenes are not working. I checked the Vera log, and the log shows no entries whatsoever when a scene button on the GE 45631 is pushed.
Interestingly, I was able to manually include an Intermatic Lamp Module and a GE Light switch to a “Group” on the GE 45631, using the GE 45631 procedure to program groups. I have not tried other Zwave devices yet.
I would be interested in if anyone has got Scenes working (with Vera), and if so, how they did it.
I am having problems too with including the 45631. I can create all of the events in my scenes and they show up in the first tab of the setup pages for the original instance of the scene controller. When I go to re-include it just creates a new instance of another scene controller (it doesn’t use the exisitng instance of the device to push the scene information to the switch). I am missing something, do I need to keep the controller awake? it seems to finish the transfer when included, blinking green twice…
Any help would be appreciated, I would really like and easy hard-button for my Home/Away scenes near my front door.
My understanding is that you do not need to exclude before you re-include. The purpose of re-including the device is just to facilitate the exchange of data between the device and Vera. Vera should be smart enough to recognize that the device already exists in your network and it will just update the settings to the device.
I have tried excluding and then re-including. I have also tried simply including it again after setting up the scene and event. In all cases I cannot get the GE controller to trigger anything. I also don’t know what “scene number” the buttons on the GE controller correspond to.
@oTi@ Thanks for pointing me to those threads. I have read through all of those posts. I have spent a few hours on this and have never been able to get vera2 to execute a scene triggered by the GE45631. I have tried the order of operations suggested is some posts and dismissed some of the posts as irrelevant. I have looked through my logs and emailed micasaverde tech support and they have not been super helpful.
Could someone post the relevant logs items showing a GE 45631 triggering a vera scene?
For thode of you who have a large amount of DEVICES already set up, check and see what is the NODE ID of the device you are trying to control with the GE #45631 wall controller. This controller cannot control devices with a NODE ID, higher than 32. If you want to re-build your network and include the devices you want this controller to handle, FIRST!, then they will work.
Then add the rest of your devices
