GE 45609 On/Off switches lose connection after power failure

Hi All,

I’m new to the forum as I just purchased my Vera II a couple of weeks ago. I also purchased several of the GE On/Off switches (45609 and the 3-way versions of same) and I have a problem with these on power failure. After the power is restored Vera will not talk to these switches until I remove them and re-install them into Vera. They still appear in the UI but every attempt to control or configure them results in a “Transmit failed with code: 1” error. I’ve sent this to tech support and am waiting for a reply so I thought I would post it here as well. I have another issue with the Vera II (won’t automatically get the time from the NIST server) so I suspect the problem might be a defective Vera.

Has anyone had this problem with the GE switches? These are the newer style with terminals rather than leads.

Can anyone who has these switches tell me whether or not they have any problems after a power failure?

Thank you.

I have one of these switches, in fact its my only z-wave device thus far (I just got my vera). I lost power for a very short time and my switch works still works just fine.
