GE 45600 / 601

So, Amazon has 45600 for $6.

I’ve been looking for a remote, and was looking for something like the Harmony 890Pro. Then I saw this.

I mean, for $6 bucks I’m giving it a shot. The 601 is only $14…

I got a few because they were so cheap but Vera would not correctly assign the scenes with UI5. Let us know if you have better luck.

I am not on UI5 (i don’t think)…

From what I read, I shouldn’t bother for now. Perhaps if I get it programmed up, I will be able to keep it programmed when I switch eventually.

I bought a couple the other day myself. Even if scenes won’t work, at least I can assign individual lights, right?

I have no idea if it’s possible to control the 45600 with UI5 (I’m new to this), but you can use the 45600 as a secondary controller to MCV and control lights, groups, and scenes with the remote (that are setup using the remote).

Holy Freaking Cow.

These are awsome. Got it today, programmed it per the below in about 6 seconds.

I am buying about 5 of these for the house. Even the wife was impressed with the simplicity of one button, scene is set. no phones, screens, or other crazy nonsense.

How do you pair a GE45601 remote to a Vera3 UI5…step-by-step - please.

This worked fo me.

UI5 → Devices → Add device
Click “Add” next to “Advanced Z-wave devices” (last one in the list)
Look for (BUT DO NOT CLICK) “Add one” under “For battery operated handheld remotes”

On your remote:
Press and hold SETUP until “LGHT SETUP”
Scroll right to TRANSFER (should be 5 presses)
Hit OK
Scroll to RECEIVE (2 presses)
Hit OK

Back to Vera UI5, click “Add one” under “For battery operated handheld remotes”

Vera will include the remote, and that’s it.

Now to assign a key to a light, this is done with the remote and device only (no Vera):
Press and hold SETUP until “LGHT SETUP”
Hit OK (screen says “ADD” now)
Hit OK (screen says “TO NETWORK”)
Scroll right to “TO A KEY” (1 press)
Hit OK (screen says “SEL DIGIT”)
If you want button one, press “ON” for key 1 (screen says “LIGHT 1”)
Hit OK (it will say “setup waiting” at the bottom of the screen)
Press the button on the receptacle
Screed should say “SUCCESS”

Now you can turn on/off the light with the remote by hitting “LIGHT” and then the On or Off side of key 1.
