On the Vera Dashboard open the camera settings (wrench icon) and go to the advanced tab
Check below fields for matching values. These settings allow Pan/Tilt for my Foscam 8910
Also verify IP and MAC field have the correct values for your camera as wired and WIfI have different MAC
yup the foscam is buggy sometimes and needs to push the ptz button twice before it starts to move. you can set the steps for moving in the foscam itself then it goes faster. latest firmware also solves the not responding to certain http requests.
I have a Foscam (FI8918W) connected wirelessly to my LAN. When adding a Camera device the auto-detect also did not pick up the camera and when I tried to manually add the camera I also could not get it to work. Eventually I got it to work by replacing every forward slash in the URL with a double forward slash which then worked just fine. I’m guessing it’s some kind of escape sequence. As an example assuming that your Web Cam is currently setup with IP=192.168.1.10 and port 95, then you’d need to use the following URL http:////192.168.1.10:95 and then on the next screen, once you select Foscam as the WebCam type the final URL should be http:////192.168.1.10:95//snapshot.cgi . Note that the regular “http://” has been replaced with “http:////”. You may need to re-add the 2 extra forward slashes to the http: on the second screen.
after sometime using Vera to monitor my foscam (it just to slow to load in 3G and PTZ hardly working),
I decided to switch to IP camera viewer app (android) via DNS service (no-ip) and have my VeraAlerts to notify me and send me snapshot once motion sensor tripped. then I just open the app and record.
