Foscam IP Camera Plugin

For whatever reason I have Vistacam and Foscam plugins installed. I cannot see mt FI9805W any more sine that guy udated my firmware. I can access it via the web though. How would I switch to the Vistacam plugin only ? Might give that a try before I downgrade as that is not something I really want to do unless I have to

if you have the firmware with ONVIF video you should use port 80 (standard http port u use for login to the cam) instead of 880 to be able to put it in the foscam interface/vera or look to the campicture from wan.
impl file works for ui6 and ui7 too.
9821W v2 latest firmware tested ok

In my camera settings I have ONVIF Port 888 (default), I should change that to 80 ? And then obviously forward port 80 in my router ? I have the normal http port set to something different than 80, and forwarded that port in my router. So I should try accessing my camera through ONVIF and port 80, correct ?

I was finally able to get this working with UI7 and the latest Foscam firmware for the 8910W.

Here’s what did it for me:

Install Foscam App under Apps
Add camera, select “Other IP Camera”
Paste this URL into “Paste this URL…”
http://CameraIPAddress:PORT/snapshot.cgi?user=USERNAME&pwd=PASSWORD
*replace user name and password with your user name and your password
DO NOT ENTER THE USER NAME AND PASSWORD INTO THE WEB FORM
Hit Next Button, Hit Next Button again
If Image doesn’t show up, go to Advanced Settings and make sure your PORT is appended to your IP Address like this:
10.0.0.1:8000

I did this and finally got the image of my webcam (thank you) but how do you get the functions of moving the camera and motion detection? I am very new at this so any help would be great.

Does Anyone have been able to get the FI9828W to work with UI5 ?

I tried creating a generic device and only been able to have a fix image, I have no acces to either the pan tilt or motion detection, here are my config:

in setting:

I now have the pan/tilt working, I set the impl_file to I_Foscam98HD.xml but i’m still missing the zoom functionnality and the motion detection which seems not to have been implemented yet in the plugin.

The API exists from Foscam to read/capture motion trigger if the camera supports motion detection. However, I believe that having to create a new device in Vera which is a motion sensor and linking this to the camera is the tricky part. I would love to see that happening as well especially as this is a feature of the camera already and there is no need to buy an extra motion sensor hardware device.

I’m sorry to probably ask the same question as anyone else. But I would like to know which cam and all its functions is supported best by the plug-in. I need to know which camera supports pan and tilt, motion detection, microphone and or speaker, preferably HD, and night vision.
I am buying one this month for monitoring the baby but just need to know which will have all functions supported.

Maybe a support matrix in the OP is a good idea?

My Foscam keeps removing the port in its settings and thus making an invalid irk and not capturing pictures. I can add it back in but after time it deletes it for some reason and I have to keep doing the process. Any help would be appreciated .

You will need to remove the Mac address from the Mac field if you are using any port other than 80.

Thanks. So what is the reason? If I have the port and MAC address it works so why does the Mac need to be removed?

Because if you have the Mac field entered, Vera will try and make it easy for you to keep the ip address updated if the device changes ip. But this well over write the port number or anything else other than the ip address.

Can you give us a hint how to get the foscam cameras working on the veraedge? It is difficult to find any clear information on how to install them. The foscam plugin just gives me an error that it cannot be installed.

Finally got the Foscam plugin to install without an error. It took 4 to 5 tries. My camera now shows an image:)
