I have a Foscam F18918W camera. I have it wired to my switch with a static IP 10.0.1.109. I can access it fine from my web browser at home but I can’t get Vera to setup to it. I added Vera’s recommended username password but it just won’t work.
I added the camera through the “generic IP camera” plug in.
I am running Vera 2 UI4 (firmware 1.1.1047)
Any ideas?
I read through the other forum threads around this camera and didn’t see any help.
I was able to get this screen - I don’t know if this is progress but it looks different than just having the blue question mark in the box (I am using Safari on a Mac, btw).
And for what it’s worth, since the PTZ plugin has two buttons that aren’t useful for the 8918 (no zoom in or out), I modified my instance of a plugin for that to allow me to flip the output both horizontally and vertically (since mine is mounted upside down) and turn on the IR lights. That way, if I get a power-bump, I can still get my “normal” MO out of the camera just using SQ Connect (or UI2).

How are you able to access the Vera camera buttons in SQ Remote? I only get the static picture in SQ Remote. I re-assigned my Zoom buttons on my Foscam to use the Patrol functions which allows for quicker movements. But again I get no movement or access to the re-assigned Zoom buttons though SQ Remote, how are you doing it?

ARRGH. You’re correct. I can do this through the web interface, but not through the camera interface that SQ C provides (so far). I could do this through a scene control, and just haven’t yet. My apologies. I’ve been reviewing patent applications since 6am. Brain is toast.

What command did you use to turn the IR lights on and off? I’d like to set mine that way.

I only implemented “turn on”, since that’s all I care about–so I have “zoom in” mapped to “turn on”:
And “zoom out” mapped to flip image vertically and horizontally, so the image looks right (I have the camera mounted upside down) and the controls move the way you’d hope.
But I snagged the command by using Firefox with Firebug installed and enabled and clicking on the web gui.
Is there a way to utilize the PT(z) + Patrol or the presets within a scene? I would like to have the camera point in a particular direction at a set time, is this possible?
@Jod, the only way I’ve been able to get my cameras to move to each PTZ setting is via a camera software called Blue IRIS which allow for the ability to patrol each preset, the only problem is that it requires your PC to be running. Mike
Thanks Mike, I was hoping I was overlooking something simple in the scene setup…
Oh well, I’ll look into Blue IRIS as a back up plan and I’m hopeful there is a way to keep it all within Vera.
Don’t disagree with you! But that kind of functionality doesn’t seem to be on any ones radar plan, Oh that’s right the common user community doesn’t really know what the future VERA enhancement plans are… other than bug fixes and UI 5 development with no ETA. It would also be nice to be able to get sound to work on IP camera’s, I guess I can keep on hoping :-X. Mike
A question for the camera folk is it possible to utilize/run cameras on any port other than 80? Haven’t found anything on this. Don’t normally run anything on Port 80.
For the Foscam the default is port 80, which was what I was using but just changed it to port 94 to test it for you, saved in the software then changed my routers port forwarding to the same port.
No issues connecting locally or remotely.
So
is it possible to utilize/run cameras on any port other than 80?
I needed a timed event to Pan Left at Sunrise and Pan Right at Sunset, maybe someone can make use of the rest of these commands. I don’t know what the IR On & Off commands are.

I reported above that there was an additional Pan Right using command = 39. http://IP:port/decoder_control.cgi?command=39
Although it did pan my camera right, I just noticed it panned to my preset #5.
Then it was easy to find the remainder of the presets.
