Every setting I had for my camera seemed to match yours. Unfortunately, I’m still not having any luck in getting the Foscam motion sensor to work. If you have a chance, could you post an image of the settings for the motion sensor device you have associated with that camera? Not sure if anything there even needs to be modified but at this point I feel as though I’m running out of options.
Do the Arm/Bypass buttons on your camera work? If they do not, you may have to reupload the D_DigitalSecurityCamera1.xml file provided by @mcvflorin in the first message in the thread http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,11027.45.html. The fact that you need to use the D_DigitalSecurityCamera1.xml file to get your camera to work with your iVera iPhone app is probably the main reason you are not seeing images.
Hopefully, you will find the answers you need in the http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,11027.45.html forum thread. As a workaround can you skip the iVera app and access your Vera unit via a web browser and cp.mios.com until the app is rewritten to deal with D_DigitalSecurityCamera2.xml?
@ silvereagle2208, even with the D_DigitalSecurityCamera2.xml file listed under device_file, I still cannot get the motion sensor to work. My arm/bypass buttons do not work: every button I push, including poll/configure all says “no implementation”. I’ve tried using the D_DigitalSecurityCamera2.xml file over the D_DigitalSecurityCamera1.xml file. I’ve tried reuploading the D_DigitalSecurityCamera1.xml, ensuring my Vera is set without protection, and changing the configureMD variable to “1”… no luck.
The fact that I get a “no implementation” error makes me feel as though the motion sensor is pointed towards the wrong file, but I’m still completely confused. My advanced tabs on my Foscam camera and my motion sensor device look very similar to the images knew mania posted, so I’m not really understanding why I can’t get the motion sensor going
agoodman82, were you able to get the motion detection working with your Foscam camera and Vera. My symptoms are very similar.
Firmware is 1.5.408. Tried changing the ConfiguredMD to 1 to reset (after save it reverted to 2). IP and MAC addresses look accurate. impl_file (I_FoscamPTZ.xml) and device_file (D_DigitalSecurityCamera2.xml) look accurate. I can switch between ARM and BYPASS without any issues. The Foscam camera is set to alarm mode and i have the camera sending notices when motion is detected. However, when polling either the camera or the motion sensor within Vera I get Command Failed: No Implementation.
I have notification set in Vera whenever the sensor is tripped. Also set to archive a photo. No notifications or archived photos when the camera alarm occurs.
I was actually able to get the motion detecting working with my foscam. In fact, I’ve since added a second foscam which also works perfectly. The funny thing is I can’t pin-point exactly what I did or changed to get my cameras working.
Due to an issue with my Yale lock I had to upgrade to beta firmware 1.5420… But I think I had the camera working before then. I remember I actually deleted the camera, sensor and the foscam plugin from Vera. I reinstalled and configured all and I think it worked after that. The MAC address has to be entered for photos to archiving, “secure my Vera” must be turned off under account setup and try setting the motion sensor timing from the default of I think 1200 seconds to something like 30 seconds so the camera will return from a tripped state to an untripped state in 30 seconds vs 20 minutes. Vera tech support was also very helpful with my foscam issue. Because they aren’t z-wave you won’t be able to poll or configure the node just fyi.

All three of my FOSCAM FI8010 sensors work. All I did was replace D_DigitalSecurityCamera1.xml reference with D_DigitalSecurityCamera2.xml and the sensors were identified and started working.
Hi thinking of getting a few of these cameras and wondering are they useable outside with some kind of housing.
Ive seen some housing on eBay but wouldn’t the IR LEDs reflect from the inside through the glass/plastic?
My mission is to get some wireless n speed ip cams for my Vera lite3 for the out side with night &day and motion sensing.
Many thanks for any advise ?
hi Kasmonkey
I have three of these and I really would not suggest they be used outside. Several problems come to light:
1" Even with 802.11N the wireless range us limited. Putting the camera in a waterproof case does not improve the range.
2. You need power. How would you handle that?
3. You mentioned the IR. you have only 8 meters of range. The case would cut that own even more.
I think Foscam makes an outdoor camera. Would that work?
Is anybody able to stream video from FI8910w configured on veralite? i am able to see a still image in ivera but no pan zoom or anything. the app responds “Incorrect video config for streaming”. I have seen the threads with same issue but was not able to find relavent answer to veralite.
Hi garretwp
Thanks for your reply. What does “not on the same network” means in your reply. Does that mean that if if ivera and vera are on same local network then I can stream video on ivera?. And I was also watching youtube video of autohomationHD where the developer has demonstrated the live streaming as well as pan tilt control on his tablet.
I mean that if you are not on the same network as your vera is on (e.g. Mobile network) streaming will not work. This is an issue with the api in UI5. Camera streaming on AutHomationHD is just a 1 second update of a still image. This is only on Wifi. On a mobile network it is on 15 seconds.
I had 3 Foscam 8910W camera’s working for over a year on my Vera 3 without any problems. I was able to pan, tilt, use presets, see streaming etc. I recently updated firmware on the three foscams and the Vera. Now I only receive the message “Camera requires a valid username and password”.
No settings, usernames or passwords changed. I’ve re-added the camera’s and encountered nothing but problems. I have only been able to get it to show the camera image but no pan and tilt. I had to leave the username and password fields in Vera blank and put them into the URL.
Okay i have another twist on the Foscam compatibility saga.
I have successfully configred for Foscam cameras. Even the motion sensors are appearing. All good so far…problem is, Vera periodically ‘forgets’ the port each camera is assigned to, and therefore stops showing the camera. The cameras are assigned static IPs through my router, and have been assigned new port numbers using the camera settings. I can re-enter the port number on the advanced tab, save it, and all will be fine for a few hours or days. Then it reverts. i can reset this on the browser but not on the mobile app, which is infurating.
Why is vera loosing the port number? How do i fix this?
This has been discussed before. If you have the mac address field populated with the camera’s mac address, the port number will be reset if it is a non standard port e.g. 80. The reason for this is that Vera will scan the network for the ip cameras and will update the ip address accordingly. This is suppose to be a connivence feature if the camera is on a dhcp network. However, if you use different port numbers for the camera’s this causes issues. You must remove the mac address from the mac field of the camera in Vera to not have it reset the port.
