Firmware Upgrade link failure

Anyone getting this??

Please wait while downloading firmware image …

Failed to download the Firmware Url!!!

Hi there, you are either using a bad link, or using the firmware link in the openwrt field or vice versa.

I would suggest sending an email to support@getvera.com with the SN number of your Vera, and ask for the correct firmware link for your Vera unit.

Regards,

John

Thanks John.

I would assume it is a bad link but all I did was click the “Upgrade” button.

It is obvious that it is on their end as the response from their server is a 500 Internal server error.

I will send them a message and wait for several days I guess.

You can do that or I’m assuming you have a smart phone…
They have a phone number and they will not only fix it in under 20 min but they will do the whole upgrade for you.

lol… yeah… yeah… I know I could call them…

I guess I am just too much of computer/techie guy… hate calling in for stuff like this…

Thanks for your help… I will call or wait if I am the only one with this issue…

Same issue here, right now. I’ll give it a bit and try again

I also had an upgrade issue today. I logged a ticket and after an almost immediate intervention by Dana I could upgrade.
Very impressed about the quick and effective support by the company!!

ok… a little update… I haven’t had the chance to call yet. I did put in a ticket request but have not heard back from them yet.

I did try the upgrade process again though… just to see if it was a server error… so this time I got a different error.

Failed to download the Firmware MD5Sum!!!

It’s not safe to upgrade your firmware without having an md5sum file. Please create one on the same location as the FirmwareImage, with the same name as the Firmware, and add .md5 to its end

Click here if you want to try again

Or click continue to proceed further without an md5sum file[/code]

Just posting it in case anyone else has a problem.

@yzfr1

MD5SUM error means that it is bad firmware image or incomplete download because of various reasons.

I did a quick search using your email address but could not find your trouble ticket. Have you used a different email address ? Can you send me via private message the SN number of your Vera unit or the email used to register your case ?

Regards,
John

Hi John,

Thanks for you help. I tried late last night one more time and everything worked just fine. It had no hiccups this time.

Also after it worked, MCV tech support logged in to my controller and verified it worked correctly.

Not sure what the deal really was but I am sure it was something of an internet issue. Perhaps a DNS issue or server issue on their end. Either way it is resolved.

Thanks again for your help.
