Would it be useful to have access to the previous few firmware versions in case there is a new issue introduced and people want to downgrade to avoid this issue? It could be in the way of URLs, collected on a Wiki page, for example…
First, I agree it would be nice to have an organized, official location. I would recommend that it includes all official and release-candidate versions that someone may have applied and want/need to go back to.
That said, I recently had to downgrade to confirm previous behavior and did the following:
-
I went to one of the release candidate messages on this board.
-
I copied the URL listed for that release. You can copy this one - it will save you time! http://download.controlmyhouse.net/betafirmware/ftp/wl500gP-1.0.541.trx
-
I altered the firmware version number (541) to the version I needed (call it 789) to create a new URL: http://download.controlmyhouse.net/betafirmware/ftp/wl500gP-1.0.789.trx
-
I entered this URL into Vera’s download page
It worked fine.

BTW, we just put 602 on the official announcements which fixes the Internet Explorer issue some users encountered with 591. To downgrade to any older version, go to advanced, download and put this link in the firmware url field: http://download.controlmyhouse.net/betafirmware/ftp/wl500gP-1.0.602.trx
Substitute 602 for the version of the firmware you want. To see a list of firmware versions that have been released and the dates for them, see the ‘official announcements’ in the forum. All the official releases are listed there.
However, a better solution, if you’re having a problem with a new firmware version, is to submit a trouble ticket. If something isn’t working that used to work, that is to say if there’s a regression, everything else is put on hold until this is resolved and we can generally have a fix for you within 24 hours.
