Fibaro relay switch

Hello guys (girls here as well?),

In response of this thread http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,10795.0.html I am opening a new thread for this device Domain Details Page , since the Fibaro roller shutter probably won’t work for me since one pole of Fibaro switch must be connected to mains live.

I have an electric gate; to open - stop or close the gate a connection has to be made between 2 pins on the circuit board. This is done by means of a simple springloaded button/knob/switch (which simply connects 2 wires). The circuit board runs on 5V.

Initially I planned to buy this roller-shutter switch from fibaro , but in the mentioned thread someone said one pole needs to be connected to the mains live, which would mean 240 volts (europe) would be part of the switching.

Now I am thinking of buying this relay switch: Domain Details Page
This would do the trick I think. one side wil have the mains (240 volts) and the other side does a simple on-off switching. In my case it needs to do “off -3 seconds on- off”.

If the connection is made longer is 8 seconds the gate goes into a setup mode, which I obviously don’t want.
The other question related to this, I understand I can create an event in vera3 to have this relay off (open) as default, when I press a switch on a remote for example, the relay closes (on) for 3 seconds and opens than again(off). These events can be programmed by the second? , is this correct?

many thanks,
cor

If the on time on the FGS211 (1x3kw) can be less than 3 seconds, then you can program the Fibaro to automatically turn off upto to 2.5 secs after it is is activated (parameters 3+4, see spec sheet http://www.homebots.ie/shop-online.html?page=shop.product_details&flypage=flypage.tpl&product_id=15&category_id=4 ) this might be safer than relying on a timed scene since any delay (e.g. caused by a lost Z-wave message) could activate an unwanted mode on the gate.

@Frasier , great, that’s exactly the answer i needed. I didn’t know you could programm the relais by itself…

Problem solved…

Many thanks,
Cor

Does anyone have any idea if the fibaro relay switch is working to control a 2-wire light system? I tried to set it up like I do with the fibaro dimmer but it didn’t seem to work for me.

Hi Frasier
Is this done in the web interface? The manual refers to parameters but I do not see anything called parameters in the web interface.
How is this done?
