I found an old thread wherein a poster described MCV support getting one of the new revs of the eyeball sensor working under UI7. At least at that time, the inclusion wizard for UI7 didn’t recognize or cope with the newer rev of these devices.
We’re still on UI5. Have one of the rev 3 eyeballs, and it set up and works fine…we’re on the special/last revision of UI5 that supports that device. Unsuprisingly, when I bought another eyeball, it was rev5, and gets included as a _Generic_IO device, which the GUI puts a banner on the bottom of saying “Z-Wave device 161 Failed to setup security. Exclude and include again Failed at: Getting secure classes”. If I dump the XML data and single out this device, sure enough, it has a variable I’ve not seen before named “Security failed” with a value of 1. I’ve tried changing the device class and file by hand, and nothing makes any difference. Obviously, it never clones into the LUX and Temperature child sensors.
Has anyone here gotten one of these to play nicely under UI5? If so, can you share the recipe/incantation/human-sacrifice that resulted in success? I bought this to replace an ancient ZIR000 that died a week ago, and expected this to be a trivial swap out/in. So far, not so much.
