Fibaro FGD211 Dimmer with CFLs - noisey!

Hi All

I understand that it’s possible to use a fibaro dimmer as a switch by setting min dimmer Level (parameter 13) to 98 and setting parameter 10 to 0, and this is a must for CFLs

After fitting a dimmer to the wall switch that operates a light fitting with 2 x CFL, I noticed that:

[ul][li]The CFLs are making some noise (low cracking and buzzing) when the dimmer switch is off. This I guess would be because of the small amount to voltage that still flows from the dimmer on the off state[/li]
[li]The CFLs make a significant amount of buzzing noise when they are on and this is actually making other electronic items buzz, such as my PC power supply 3 -4 meters away.[/li][/ul]

If I fit the FG8001 Bypass is this likely to eliminate not only the noise issues when the dimmer is off, but also the loud buzzing that is driving me insane when CFLs are on?

Thanks in advance

Mine just flicker with fluros, the fgd211 and the bypass installed. No noise though. I’ve tried experimenting with parameter 20 but it doesn’t seem to help. There’s recommended settings for LED on Variable 20, but not fluorescent.

I do have some CFL’s installed in my dad’s home with fibaro dimmers. They all seem wo work fine. But I guess there are so many different CFL’s that it might depend on which one you are using exactly.

Attached is a picture of how I have setup the dimmer parameters. Maybe it helps.
