Fibaro FGD211 Dimmer - 2nd input association

Dear All,

Is it possible to associate the 2nd input of the dimmer to a smartswitch?
I tried adding group id 2 to the dimmer control and the smartswitch but is not working as expected: the smartswitch turn on and off when 1st input of the dimmer is on/off. I want only input 2 of the dimmer to control the smartswitch.

Is this possible? If yes, how?

Regards,
Viorel

Is there anyone that knows this?
I also would like to use the 2nd input on the fabaro dimmer with my vera.
Anyone know if this is possible?

Is it possible to trigger a scene with this 2nd input?

I also have this problem and would like to know if there is a solution to this.

According to Fibaro, switch 2 can only be used for associations.

But I guess nothing nothing stops you from making an association and read/poll the associated device using an virtual switch.

This sounds good, but how do you actually do this?

Indeed: how do you do this?
I can’t find a comprehensible example on association of Fibaro on Vera, only many people asking for it, but no one coming with an example. Only statements that it works.
So please help the community with an instruction or example.
Thanks in advance for the hero who leads the way.

Because I started this thread and I cannot get any solution, let me explain you what I did so far:

  • I set some parameters (in Device Options → Configuration settings) as following: 14 to 1, 1,7,15 to 0 - I use bistable switch;
  • the second input does not appear in Vera (according to the fibaro manual, this is normal: "Info: Key no. 2 is not represented by any physical device expect of devices on association list. " - http://materialy.fibaro.com/instrukcje/dimmer%20FGD211%20v14%20-%20v18%20ENG.pdf)
  • set Automatically configure to yes
  • add group id 2 in Device Options → Associations
  • set association to a smart switch - see attach

This should open or close the smart switch (or any other real sensor - not virtual- associated) by using input 2 of the fibaro dimmer. I tested once and it did not work.
I’ll test again tonight.

@vublea,

Interesting device. I took a quick look at the manual and the settings that you posted.

In your screenshot, it doesn’t appear the controlled device (the SmartSwitch) is actually selected?

In general: add the group number, select the devices in that group and save. Upon reload Vera should configure the device with the new group.

I am a complete novice - so any help would be appreciated!

I would like to use a bistable switch connected to the second input (S2) on the FGD-211 to trigger a scene in VeraLite, completely independently of the state of S1 and/or manually dimming the lamp from Vera. How exactly is this done?

(I have achieved it using the switch FGS-211, but this is easy as it has a second virtual icon in “Devices” - something the dimmer does NOT have).

Step by step instructiuons on how do I read the status of the S2 input on the FGD211 in the VeraLite control panel please?

This is something I’m wondering myself. Did you find anything out? Anyone else?
