I’m currently testing my Fibaro FGD211 before I fully install it as part of this project:
I’m testing it with a 40W filament bulb for now and I’m struggling to get the exact behaviour I want. I’m using an MK Grid Plus monostable switch (momentary action).
Parameter 15 is the double click option to set the lighting to 100% brightness. The default value for this is 1 (enabled) and I set it to 0 (disabled). Double clicking the switch simply switches if on and off again quickly now.
Parameter 10 is the time taken to move the dimmer between the highest and lowest brightness settings (these can be constrained using other parameters). Setting it to zero should stop the dimmer feature altogether and is required for LED lighting I plan to use that does’t support dimming. This didn’t appear to work though. It would still dim on pressing and holding the switch.
Parameter 11 is the percentage of dimming step when using the switch (manual control) and has a default value of 1. Set this to its highest value of 99 and this disabled the manual dimming. It would now jump between off and full on but when pressing and holding the switch with the lamp on, I see the bulb not quite switching fully off. If I press it again, it goes off. Press it again and it goes back to the remember low value, despite saying it was at 0% in the VeraLite display.
Are you testing the different parameters in isolation first (one by one) ?
So not leaving any previous settings when you add/try the other ?
I’ve personally only changed my Parameter 14 to work with a standard switch rather than a rocker switch, so that’s about the limit of my experience with the Fibaro Dimmer so far.
These are the settings I use for mine in the same situation:
10 - 1 byte dec - 0
14 - 1 byte dec - 1
17 - 1 byte dec - 1
Doesn’t sound like the situation is the same. P14 = 1 is for a bistable (normal) light switch. I’m using a monostable switch from the MK Grid Plus range.
P17 controls the 3-way switch settings and the default is 0 (disabled), which is what we require.
Also tried setting P11 back to 1 and the switch will now dim / raise the lamps brightness smoothly. I want to disable the dimming capability if possible and P10 = 0 should do this.
