Fibaro Dimmer on on/off swicth

Hello guys

I have some technical questions

Can a Fibaro Dimmer be installed on an ON/OFF switch? so i can use dimming feature from zwave only and on/off manually from the switch?

The single/double switch fibaro, can be installed on both push button and on/off switch right? but i have to change the parameter thats all right?

waiting for your reply

Yes, it is called a bi-stable switch in their manual. There is a parameter (#14) that you need to change as by default it works for mono-stable (momentary) switches. See https://www.uk-automation.co.uk/pdf/FGD211.pdf

I suspect not, but I have no experience of the double switch (I presume you mean double relay switch?) as there may be only one parameter that defines what type of switch is used on it.

Maybe I’m reading this wrong, but I think the OP was not suggesting that one of the double switch controls could be bistable and the other monostable. Indeed, there is only one parameter (still #14) which defines the operational type of BOTH switches. I have run double relays with either switch type (but NOT both at the same time!) and they are very satisfactory.

Well, in that case I read the question wrong

Ok then
I can use my dimmer or double relay on mono stable or bi stable switch and it depends on the parameter # 14
that’s great

thanx

Yes, that’s right, but do also note that the DEFAULT setting for parameter #14 is different for dimmers and relays: dimmers are by default set to monostable switches; relays to bistable.
