Fibaro (3 in 1) Door/Window Sensor

Perhaps these pics are helpful:

Especially:

Thx, that is how i had it, i will give it another go

Please note that you have to EXCLUDE the sensor from your Vera, add the temp sensor to the fibaro sensor, then RESET the sensor, and then include it again to your Vera!

If you don’t do the above, it wont work!

After you have included it into the Vera, temporarily set the “Wakeup interval” and the “Poll this node at most once every” values to 30. This will speed up the configuration of the device and the temperature value. Don’t forget to set it back to the default value (or the values of your choice) after the configuration is done and the temp shows up, to reduce battery drain.

P.s. Temp sensor should be mounted with the FLAT part DOWN (as in the pictures that oTi@ has posted and as is stated in the manual)

I have managed to get the door sensor incl the temp sensor included, which previously always failed. However I do not see the temp sensor now as a device

it’s written somewhere in this thread.

you need to chage the device file to:

D_TemperatureSensor1.xml

Cor

Yes, but i have no second device, only the motion sensor

how long did you wait ?
set the wakeup time and poll time to something tiny like 30 sec.
and configure …
it takes some wakeup cycles until they show up.

I did put it to 30 and have been waiting 3 hours now :frowning: Blew my battery from 85 to 47%

Do this again:
EXCLUDE the sensor from your Vera, then RESET the sensor, and then include it again to your Vera.

Especially the reset of the sensor is important! Follow the steps noted in the manual to reset the device. Steps are mentioned under “III Fibaro Sensor Start-up” → “2. Resetting the Fibaro Door/Window Sensor”.
Manual located here: http://www.fibaro.com/files/instrukcje/eng/DoorWindowSensor%20FGK-101-107%20ENG_v21-v23.pdf

In the latest firmware, it is not needed to change the device file.
Default times are 30 minutes. If you change the settings to 30 seconds, total configuration should not take longer than 45 - 60 minutes max. If it still doesn’t show the temp device after one hour, do the above again.

I have no battery left, it drowned completely from 85 %. … Resetting is removing the battery and move the magnet next to it right?

  1. Take off the Sensor’s cover and remove battery.
  2. Touch the Sensor’s body with a magnet,
  3. Insert the battery,
  4. Remove the magnet from the Sensor’s body,
  5. Remove the battery
  6. Re-install the battery,
  7. Reset will be confirmed by double LED blink.

HERO!!! This is the @@@@@ trick, thx!!!

Anyone know where to get these in the USA?

I managed to add the sensor including a temperatur sensor like described above. On the vera it added a device for the motion sensor and one for the temperature.

Did I understand this correctly, both devices should work? Because so far it seems like only the temperature sensor is reporting back to vera, the reed/door sensor always is triggered and does not seem to change it’s state depending on the magnet.

They should both work, I have 3 incl the temp sensors. It was a pain including them, but now they work

Thanks for the fast feedback! Then I am going to include/exlude them some more times. Just wanted to makes sure it is possible before trying for hours.

probably the reed sensor is stuck… send it back for RMA

After trying a couple more times a tried another device, worked just fine on the first try. So it must indeed be a faulty hardware unit!

Thanks for helping out. This is a pretty nice device for fridge/freezer surveillance. ;D

for fridge i would use this fibaro FGBS001 universal sensor… cheaper and has 2 different motion-sensor and you can attach 2 tempsensors to it https://www.domotica-shop.nl/ds18b20-temperatuursensor-met-1-meter-kabel-p-16508.html and power with adapter or 9v battery.

Good idea, I use that device too, but not for the fridge. The setup of these FGK-101-2-3-4-5-6-7 is much easier, no wiring, no box for the electronics, just stick in in and ready it is.
