Feature Request: turn off LEDs so we can sleep

In order to provide the best WiFi coverage, we have the Vera box located in the master bedroom.

Currently we’re unplugging it a night cause the LEDs are annoying.

Our Netgear router has a button on the back to turn off the LEDs. That would be the best solution but would require a hardware change to implement.

Would it be possible to add a firmware option to turn off all LEDs? I would be OK with them working for the first few minutes after power on so they are useful for debug but once things are running it would be nice if they could be turned off.

Steveg,
This post covers the LED in the ZWave dongle…

Guess your stuck with a piece of tape

Thanks for the pointer – I guess you guys can’t control all of the LEDs but please do what you can.

At least the blue dongle one is amenable to tape. It could also be put it on an extension USB cable with the dongle end in a light-tight bag.

The orange ones on the front also light up the inside of the chassis, They are bright and very annoying. Blocking the back light from them will block airflow.

I have a piece of black electric tape on the dongle.

As of the front LED lights, I was thinking about eventually opening the case (void the warranty?) and taping the LEDs inside…

Can’t you just put it somewhere else where you can’t see it? Kitchen, office, under the couch…
