I have a Fibaro magnetic door sensor that’s been working well for quite some time. Battery is good.
However, it has recently started sending unit notifications that it shouldn’t. And the time stamps are strange, reminding me of an Aeon temp sensor problem I had last year.
In the last day, the unit has reported the closed door open at the following times: 22:53, 23:53, 00:23, 02:23, 02:53, 04:23, 04:53, 05:23, 05:53 and 06:53. It’s currently 17:20, and it’s happy.
The fact the times are either on the hour or half-hour may mean something to someone.
I have noted a few of the numbers from the reports, and they are none the same.
Anyone else observed similar behaviour?
It may be that this matches the polling time you have in your settings. Are you polling every 30min?
Hello, Bulldog - yes, the polling interval is 30 mins - but the times, while always on the 23 or 53 were not consistent, and I have had no false notifications at all since I posted.
So: I’m still left wondering where the false notifications were generated - not from the Fibaro unit, I don’t believe.
Not knowing how the whole system works, i.e.: where the notifications can be generated along the way, I have no idea.

in talking with a few people on this forum, there seems to be a condition where these devices at times trip during the poll. because you are polling at 30min intervals, that explains the similarities on the event occurring (i.e. multiples of 30min).
If it is easily reachable and you are not reconfiguring it frequently you can extend the poll for up to the device’s max. Just remember that you may have to use its program button if you want to change settings again, as the poll will take a long time to capture that.
Or leave it alone, since it is working OK now
