Factory reset phone, Alerts not coming in (Resolved)

I had Vera Alerts running just fine, then I did a factory reset on my phone, now nothing’s coming through. I created a new profile with the new VeraAlertsID, and registered my app and the Credentials shows everything correct. When I go to “Send Alert” in the web GUI I’m not getting anything through with any tests. I have debugging on full on both the app and plugin.

Lollipop 5.0.1 :frowning:
Latest version of both the app and plugin

Make sure your not exceeding your paid limit if you created another new profile.
Normally all you do is leave your code in VERA and on your phone in the vera alerts settings toward the bottom it says “enter device identifier” you could have just entered what you already had in vera there and nothing in vera would have changed.

Make sure the code is the same on both the phone and in vera. Maybe change both again just to make sure it wasn’t already taken.

And it sounds like your might already be doing this but just to make sure only send a test or manual message in vera alerts to make sure it has nothing to do with vera notification system.

Okay so this was a phone issue. For those who don’t know, the Verizon LG G3 5.0.1 update is completely broken. When on WiFi, notifications don’t come through from many apps (Gmail, news, etc). As soon as I turned off WiFi the alerts started coming through. Figured I’d leave this topic in case anyone else is affected as well.

Good info.

Is it for sure the 5.0.1 update affecting everyone or is it an issue with resetting up your wifi settings. Does it stop all internet or just notifications? Seems weird to only block certain functions.

It seems to be Verizon G3 only (other carriers aren’t affected I believe). It’s an insane bug that Verizon and LG know about. Probably will still be 6 months for a fix (thanks Verizon!). It’s some apps and it’s not always consistent. I complained to Verizon and got a $12/month credit for 12 months since I’m going to probably need to increase my data plan. Also the 5.0.1 update makes bluetooth skip like a CD on a bumpy road. :frowning:

Here’s some info on the WiFi problem:
