Hi,
New to this forum and to micasaverde. I got my controller today together with an Evolve LRM-AS light switch.
I am replacing a 3 way switch with the Evolve. I am just interested to use the main switch and don’t really care about controlling the lights with the other one on the other side of the room.
I was able to pair it with my Vera, but I am running into the problem of flickering or erratic control. I searched the forum to try to find somebody who had the same problem without success (other switches). I am not an expert in electrical and brand new with the vera controller.
The wires on my wall switch are 2 blacks and 1 red.
How am I supposed to wire it? I put the 1 black with the white and blue on the Evolve, and the black with the other black. Is this correct ?
Any help is well appreciated.
Thanks.
No. That’s not correct. Did you read the switch’s manual?
First you must positively identify each of the wires that you have in the wall.
The white wire from the LRM-AS must go to neutral.
The black wire from the LRM-AS must go to line(hot).
The blue wire from the LRM-AS must go to load(light).
There is no other way to wire this switch.
I did read the manual.
I positively identified the hot wire (black). Connected it to the black wire on the LRM-AS. I connected the other black wire from the wall to the white on the LRM-AS. Red one from the wall to the Blue one on the LRM-AS. Nothing happens.
Unless I am wrong between the white and blue wire, I don’t see what I am doing wrong. But then again I am not an expert in this. Just looking for some guidance.
Thanks for your help.
The switch must be installed where the hot is located. You’ll need to find which of the two locations has the hot. It should also have the neutral wires.
