Everspring ST814 temperature and humidity sensor and Vera Lite

Just bought my Vera Lite and an Everspring ST814 temperature and humidity. I’m having big problems with including it. It just doesn’t add to my control panel whatever I do. Thus I press “I’m activating the device, but it’s not adding to the list” and follow the instructions. The orange LED seems som blink the right way, but the sensor just doesn’t include. I’ve been trying to remove and then add the device using the +/- buttons on the Vera Lite and that makes the orange LED to blink as it should, but the sensor doesn’t show up in my control panel. I’ve checked under all tabs in Devices, but the sensor isn’t there.

What is wrong?

Make sure that Vera and the Everspring ST814 sensor are close to each other during the inclusion/exclusion process. In fact, try to exclude the device first.

Press the “-” button on the Vera Lite. Then, following the instructions for the sensor (see attached), press the F/C button three times within 1.5 seconds.

Then follow the instructions for inclusion: Press the “+” button on Vera. Then press the F/C button on the sensor three times within 1.5 seconds.

If this fails, follow the instructions to reset the sensor and try again. (see attached) or http://www.smarthome.com/manuals/65456.pdf

It took me a few tries, but this worked for me.

Thanks for the reply. I did test all your suggestions with no success. However, as I unpacked and installed my Vera Lite the first time, there was a dimmer device already included in the UI, don’t know why. I removed this dimmer, after that I successfully included my temperature sensor without any problem at all.

Thus: SOLVED!

I got the ST814 to include, but it seems stuck in “Waiting for wakeup to configure device”. I’ve tried resetting 2x. I’ll give it more time.

I am having the same issue. I have had these devices for a while and never had an issue with adding them on Homeseer in the past. Any other ideas on how to get these to work with Vera 3?
Thanks!
Stephen

I’ve got two of these, the second installed yesterday by coincidence. And it didn’t want to play either. In the end I hit it with everything -

[ul][li]Automatically configure set to yes [/li]
[li]configure this node right now[/li]
[li]update neighbour nodes[/li]
[li]poll now[/li][/ul]

AND a zwave repair.

Not sure which one sorted it out, but this morning it was displaying numbers. The wrong numbers, but at least it was talking. Then a couple of button presses seemed to get it to start updating. Probably. But I’m watching it. I’ve had another one running on the network for months with no problem.

I have one of these working no problem. What you are seeing is the fact that the device is not “connected” all the time to the Vera. It “wakes up”, transmits, and then “goes to sleep” again. Thus, the Vera can’t configure the device on demand. It must wait for the unit to “wake” and start the transmission process.

I’m going by memory on this so sorry if I’m off a bit. By default, the device does not have a regular report rate of time. THE VERA DOES NOT POLL IT, THE UNIT REPORTS TO THE VERA. In the settings (on the physical device) you can tell it to beam. BEFORE you do, go into settings (on the Vera created device) and add the property 6 with the associated information. Then when you turn on beam (on the actual device) the Vera will configure it to transmit to the Vera at the selected time rate.

It is confusing and I probably made it more so. Read the directions that came with the device and hopefully it makes more sense.

If you’re still having problems, PM me and I’ll review my device settings and see if I can help you some more.
