Everspring ST812 Flood Sensor

Hi, I recently got the Everspring ST812 Flood Sensor to use it together with a VeraLite. When I added the sensor Vera successfully registered it but it appeared as a Motion Sensor and not as a Flood Sensor. My main problem though, is that when the sensor is tripped this is not recognized by Vera. i.e. the motion symbol doesn’t change. Vera can poll the device and the stress test works fine. Does anybody have any experience with the specific sensor? Thanks.

I managed to sort this out: from UI5 I changed the sensor settings to Automatically Configured = Yes and this solved the problem

Bias- I recently got the ST812 as well and found the same thing- it is recognized as a Motion Detector. Can you clarify- when you changed “automatically configre” to “yes” did it solve the notification issue only or did it then recognize the ST812 as a water/flood sensor? Or both?

Thanks!

I have recently acquired a Everspring flood sensor from a co-worker and it came with no manual, How does one pair it with my VL? I found a online manual and it said something about holding the small button on the back for 3 seconds while my VL was in “add” mode which i tried but it did not work.

@mattpally: from my experience, you sometimes have to try a few times to include it before Vera actually sees it. Best to reset it first - hold the link button until the beeping stops and try again.

I too have these seen as motion sensors. I was able to test and trip the “motion sensor” using moisture on my finger. Anyone know if there is a flood or water sensor device type? Mine are using the device file D_MotionSensor1.xml

HAve the same problem here, My everspring flood sensor says in vera that is a Motion sensor…

What to do??

Same thing here. Actually, I do also have the real Everspring Motion Detector.
I think we have to live with it…

Same thing here, and I refuse to live with it. I have taped a picture to my monitor that shows a flood icon. I lift it up to see the sensor status every now and then

:o ;D

This is normal. All contact devices are shown as motion devices.

But what is the issues, I mean if it is tripped, the icon changes and sets off my alarm

I think they do not like the fact that the icon does not reflect a flood type sensor.

Dedicated flood type icon was requested / suggested quite some time ago; but so far, not implemented.

fair enough, but same with temps only shows 18, rather than 18,0. Also requested by tons of people…

Yep. I went so far as to give them an implementation proposal / have a discussion about it with MCV. Didn’t get far. :frowning:

Exactly

After latest update using mios update utility app, needed for vistacam HD, the everspring ST812 shows up as a temperature device. Now another call to tech support to see whats up.
