On findvera.com I can log in, check my energy consumption, see my backups but when I try "control’ I receive this error message “ERROR: Host is not active” even the host is active and no firewall turned on.
I’m seeing the same thing. I am contacting support in a little bit and hopefully they can fix this easily.
I’ll post an update after I get mine working.
We identified the problem with Aaronox’s system, and will have an updated firmware in a couple days.
Thanks guys for the help.
Just for the rest of the forum, it initially seems that my first problem and reset of the system caused the problem and was not something that would normally happen.
Looks like I’m just special.
Is there a work-around for now ?
There isn’t a work around, but with MiCasa support on the phone, i gave them acces to the router and they were able to fix it. I guess with the next firmware upgrade, they will have it so it can’t loose the settings that are needed for the secure communication back to their servers.
The new firmware should be out in a day or two (fingers crossed)
Looking forward to it.
It’s so hard for me not to continue trying different setup’s, but I don’t want to keep calling cause I had to reset the box.
Problem not fixed in latest update:
ERROR: Host is not active
Your host cannot be accessed. Please check that the host is powered on and has a working internet connection.
Interesting. It fixed it for me?!
Mine doesn’t work either.
We’ll have the new firmware up today that should fix this. If it doesn’t feel free to call (866) 966-casa ext 803 anytime, including the weekend. We’ve got 2 developers working on this through the weekend to try to fix any outstanding issues.
Hello,
I have installed the latest firmware update and I have the same problem. I don’t have a problem with findvera.com on my local network as long as I use the big green button to setup the system. But if I try to access Vera from my I phone, I can login and see the backups (setup) and events but “Host is not Active” pops up for control and camera.

firmware 1.0.283 did not solve the problem. I guess the fix is only good for people without the problem and Support has to login to vera to fix it. problem now in 1.0.283 is that I can not enable remote support.
Can you try using Firefox and after the site loads press F5 to reload the page and purge the cache? We’ve found another IE cache issue and I want to see if this is something else we need to fix for the next release.
Same problem with Firefox after F5 and IE. I can get the power usage just fine and the backup works too but no “control”
I also noticed that I can not enable “remote support”
After talking last weekend to one of you engineers my assumption was that he has to login to my box to fix the problem.
With the new firmware this supposes to not happen anymore but if it was not “remote fixed” before upgrading you will have the same problem with “Host is not active” Wonder how the remote fix will work without enable remote assistance.
If this still happens with the upcoming firmware, call me back again.
Tried above.
Still same error message. Firefox 3.03 on Mac
p.s. I see I duplicated this issue on a separate thread. I will start responding on this thread.
I’m getting “ERROR: Host is not active” too, but this is natural if you trying to connect as remote access from behind your home network. Think how Vera enables connection from outside with no port forwarding. Your real router won’t let you establish another loop connection.
I tested it from work and it works with no problem.
ahhh.
that makes sense. I will test from outside my network.
Thanks
