I just received my brand new Vera 2 controller and with glee got it hooked up to my Kwikset lock via Home Buddy on my Android phone. So cool! 
I’m quite excited now to build out the rest of my system using the Vera 2 throughout my house.
Before I start replacing power receptacles, I’d like to investigate doing energy monitoring as well. I poked around online, but I didn’t find what I was looking for: (1) a Z-wave duplex plug (that is, both plugs can operate as independently controlled Z-wave nodes) that (2) also provide energy monitoring feedback (3) in a standard wall receptacle form factor.
Does such a beast exist? I’d love to find it if it does.
