email notifications limited?

Hello

I an new to Vera but I setup the unit, configured email etc and also set the maximum number of email notifications per day to 100.
It is working fine, but i soon get a max quota hit message and do not receive further emails, maybe some 20 per day max.

I have configured this sections as shown in the picture.
Also the counter always shows “0” messages, instead of the actual amount.

Any idea why this section is not working as expected? Or is this connected to the subscription fee (paid) service?

I noticed that it does not matter if you enter max 20 emails per day in the Vera interface or 100 emails.
I just get a few emails per day, regardless.

That is disappointing. One of the main reasons why I liked Vera is because of the notification, if you are away.
I have not read anywhere that this is limited or subject to a yearly fee or whatsoever.

I understood that more people are facing this issue. Hopefully it will be solved.I am going to raise this to techsupport.

Maybe MCV can release a own configurable SMTP option such that you can use your own provider?

I’ve replaced most of the email function with the Growl notification service. It is limited to 1,000 events per hour. Enough for my needs.

I use it to send notifications of all motion detectors. Additionally I use it as a"debug print" function when trouble shooting code.

I neglected to mention above this only works for me because I have an iPad to receive the notifications using a free Growl client called Prowl.

There is a client for Androids called “Notify My Android”.

I’ve not used it so cannot comment on its usability. Prowl for iPad works great.

You should look at the SND plugin see http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/topic,6656.0.html. This will enable you to use your own ISP.

Also you Automator.app see http://forum.micasaverde.com/index.php/board,18.0.html which is an Iphone app (there is a cost for the app) but unlimited notification.

Thanks to all of you for the replies.

As i don’t have Iphones or IPADs (yet) I went for the SND plugin and it is working in one go!

Fast and unlimited.

Really happy with this.
