I am currently planning a z-wave installation in my house. The only problem so far, is the lack of supported components in europe (Norway) that can be used in the way i would like…
My installation should still contain all regular buttons and operations in the room where they are located.
And i would ofcourse use the same design / Series of remote switches that is allready mounted in the frames on the wall (Schneider Electric connect can be used for that)…
So i have been looking for thermostats with Floor (and room) sensors that can replace a regular one that is a mounting frame on the wall. Just found that MicroMatic has released a new series, microtemp that runs on the correct frequency.
Master: Micro Matic Norge AS
Slave: Micro Matic Norge AS
As far as i understand this is a standalone system, but the way they describes it that each unit connected to the masterunit (that is also a regular thermostat) extends the wireless range it sounds werry similar to Z-waves mesh network. It is also 2-way connections and is running on 868Mhz…
Is there a way to reverse engineer this to make it able to work with MicasaVerde?
Also, i just found that Moeller (Eaton) xComfort have been made public by this guy to work with LinuxMCE
Heatmiser in the UK market a range of wi-fi thermostats, including some for heated floors. I have developed a plug-in to interface these thermostats to Vera. The plug-in doesn’t currently address heated floors specifically, but I’m sure the changes, if any, would be easy to incorporate.
Yes, i`ve been looking at Hitmeister. But that does not fit my electrical systems (frames)
And there is no electriccians in norway (as far as i know) that would like to mount it, (mounting electric components 230v is protected by law in norway so a DIY is a no-go)
That`s why the micromatic would been perfect. Fits right into the wall frames, and look “original”
From my experience while searching for a thermostat with both Floor and room sensor that can be used in scandinavia - it looks like this is the missing link people are waiting for.
just got a feedback from MicroMatic…
I`ll try to translate as good as possible.
“We have at the moment no plans to integrate Z-wave to our products, but we are about to launch a gateway for our own products for remote control”
I then asked why not integrate Z-wave? it would be nice to be able to use what product you would like, nomather who produced them. and there will probably be a market for them since it looks like people are waiting for this"
“we have delivered open KNX systems for a while, so we have a good knowledge of what the marked would like to have. The fear of locking to one manufacture is not big, since those setups is often the best ones. A challenge with using different manufactures is when something goes wrong, there is no one to fully take the blame and this is something the consumers and the Electricians is concerned about”
aprently there is some agreement in russia with Zwave.me and devi
There is a modified Danfoss thermostat with wired floor and room sensor that will fit regular wall mounted frames. (at least in norway)
