Efficient Backup

As our Veras are small computers with Linux installed, there is an effective way to have an entire backup of them?
only the backup taken every evening by own Micasaverde program is enough?
There are backup programs for linux that I can use and have a full mirror and safer for my veras?

Thanks for the replies.

MCV’s backup should be fine it is backing up the system folders required for a complete restore.

The MCV evening backup is sufficient.
It backs up things the client is allowed to modify.
Most of the software is in ROM and does not need to be backed up.

Information about the configuration is also store in various data files on Vera.
If the configuration files are changed independent of the configuration data files (various data files on Vera) … you will have at minimum a mess to clean up with weird behavior, and at most a bricked system.

It is your system … you can do what every you want … but do not expect MCV support to bail you out if you use other than their procedures to administer your Vera.

I agree with Richard, I’m against moving in some system, in special Vera because I like very much to have support when I need.

But for my knowledge and information the question was necessary !

Thanks for the answers. I’m calmer now.
