Dual network setup LAN and backup Wi-Fi

I was looking on the forum how to setup dual network and did not find any, maybe didnt search using the right words, so please forgive if this has been already answered, just drop me the link on it. ;D

I run my Verasecure on LAN but I want to have Wi-Fi setup as well in case the LAN is disconnected, have not seen clearly how to set this up.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Not sure if you’re trying to mitigate the loss of the physical LAN connection or a primary WAN outage.

If the latter (redundant WAN connections) there’s a couple ways. I have a dual-wan router into which a Vera is plugged. The dual-wan router has two WAN connections - my regular ISP and a separate NetGear 4G Modem. This router is configured to prefer the traditional ISP connection and fail over to the 4G modem if it fails. In this way Vera remains available to the Internet.

If you’re trying to simply backup the ethernet cable connection to Vera by having Wifi as a backup I don’t know if this is possible. When you configure Vera you choose one type of local connection - you do not choose both.

I agree with above, I think we need more info on what your trying to do. a physical LAN line is pretty robust and don’t think you can even connect a Secure via wifi let alone do both at that same time with a fail over.

I would assume you mean you lost internet or WAN and looking for backup internet. But then again the secure has a cellular backup and if WAN is down so is wifi to WAN. So I’m a bit confused.
