I just configured my DSC panel with the Envisalink3 and the DSC plugin. It seemed to find some of my zones but not all. Am I supposed to have to manually enter them or should it have picked them all up (I have 24). On the advanced tab I see a way to manually enter them but not sure if that’s the way I’m supposed to use this.
Per the install instructions, on DSC Alarm Panel, the DSC plugin needs to have this stuff configured. A certain amount is done “up front” so you can see that the basics are working, but then you need to reconfigure to match the specific Zone configuration you have (which are motion, which are doors, etc)
Thanks. I’m guessing from what I read Windows can be set as doors or motions as they are really all the same to the VERA?
Programmatically, they all look the same (scenes etc), but visually the look different in some control points.
I’ve just installed myself and wanted to clarify:
Door sensors - i eneter under door zones
Motion sensors - motion zones
Smoke detectors - smoke
What do i do with the window sensors, flood sensor and glassbreak detector - are they all door zones?
This functionality in Vera is incomplete, they don’t have coverage for all of the requested variants so you can pick any that you want to use, they’re all functionally the same from the plugins standpoint.
I set my glass break detector as a door zone.
If you don’t have a keypad that lets your program names in for the zones on the panel, you may want to set the manual naming convention and then name your zones for easier identification. Zone 1 doesn’t tell you much other than by looking at the icon it is a door or sensor zone.
