DSC Alarm motion sensor status while disarmed

I have a DSC alarm system talking to my Vera through an Envisalink. I currently have a wireless smoke sensor and wired perimeter sensors. I am trying to weigh the pros and cons of Z-wave motion sensors or DSC wirelesss motion sensors. If I go with the DSC sensors, can I see motion events in the vera even when the system is disarmed? If so, then that is the logical choice.

The DSC motion sensors will trigger anytime the motion sensor is activated and is not dependent on if the panel is armed ir disarmed. There is one issue though, the DSC wireless motion sensors have a 6 second delay to prevent any false trips. So if you plan on using the wireless motion sensors to trigger lights to turn on when walking into a room, etc, plan on seeing this delay. The wired versions of the motion sensors do not have this issue and are instant.
