Hey there! I have a DSC 1832 alarm. I have the hardware up and running correctly. I can arm the system remotley with vera into stay mode. However when I try to arm it in AWAY mode it defaults to STAY because the DSC doesn’t detect someone leaving (obviously the purpose of remotely arming is because nobody is there). Does anyone know a workaround for this. I read somewhere about RequestQuickArm but I’m not sure what it is or how to structure it. Thanks
The DSC itself doesn’t know anything about people leaving or staying.
If you are using Vera to control this then setting the DSC Plugin state to “Armed + PIN code” it defaults to Away — at least mine does.
I have two states defined in mine, “Armed Away” for when we leave the house and will be returning eventually and provides an entry delay; and “Armed Instant” for night service when we are at home. “Armed Instant” causes the alarm to sound the instant it is violated, no entry delay is provided. Instant mode set by sending the DSC Plug In to “ArmedInstant + PIN” (which the DSC panel interprets as “Vacation” for some reason )
I also have my Vera configured to auto-set the alarm if everyone leaves the area and forgets to arm the system. This is done using Vera Proximity for Android and the iPhone Locator; if all are set absent then the alarm will arm itself “Away” after 60 seconds.
RequestQuickArmMode = Armed → away mode
It works for me.
to clippermiami- so you mean you build the scene and under the dsc plugin part you highlight arm and then in the box to the left you type in your pin code? is this what armed+pin code means?
to hellovn- where is this request quick arm mode or how do you do that I’m not understanding what this means? sorry
Have you enabled Quick Arming on the panel?
By Memory section 015 option 4
no i will look into that what does that enabling quick arming do?
Quick Arming enables you to arm the system without the use of an user code.
By default, this should be enabled and the second this this bypasses the requirement for an external zone to be activated during exit.
Look at the Advanced option in the Scene to use Vera functions
I have the same problem here… before I could arm away my system with Vera with a scene… I had a scene to remotely arm away my DSC 1832… when I use it now I can see my alarm system getting arm away… but at the end of delays… it goes on arm stay mode… If I do arm away directly with the device partition 1 with my code, it does the same thing, but if I use Verawave and I use the partition device and I arm away, it works… before my last update I did not have that problem.
I did exactly what It says… and it work great… Thanks a lot…
“To get remote arming to work without having to open a door you would use the same “RequestQuickArmMode” and set it to “Armed”…”
Hey I saw that post before but I never saw and still don’t see directions on requestquickarm?!?! Can you tell me Step by step how to do this I’m sorry I’m not getting it! I don’t understand if it is a setting or a new scene or what
When you create a new scene… you have to go to the advance editor…
