I still get “problems contacting Vera”, after giving the app permissions to storage.

Hate to bring this thread up again, but after upgrading my Nexus5x to Nougat, the “download error” problem is back even with SD card storage enabled for VeraAlerts.

Turn logging for the app on your phone (from settings).

Restart the APP and try … review the log file.

Yes – I did freeze the updates for VeraAlerts per your instructions. I must be in the minority now :slight_smile:

This indicates one of two problems
a) Connection problem, bad account credentials or the remote servers are acting up
b) Problem writing data … so there is still a permission problem.

Thanks – Although I had the authentication credentials already entered, I re-entered them into Vera Alerts and “Listed Vera IDs”. After that things started working again. Perhaps they somehow got corrupted during the Nougat update?!?

Appreciate the feedback.

Same here…
Strange thing is that it has worked before, be it with an occasional error.
Yesterday I chnaged my router for a new one, everything seems to be up and running again,
I receive the Notifications of Veralerst on my Android phone, but when I click on the picture icon, it gives everytime “Problems contacting Vera” notification,
and sometimes a "Download Error: no handler"notification.

Edit:
I found that one of the LAN devices connected to the router (my smart TV…) caused network traffic problems,
even internet connection for the whole LAN to go down frequently. Don’t know the rootcause yet, but after disconnecting the TV LAN cable to the router, everything is working nicely, including the Veralerts.
For now it looks to be solved (in my case).
