Doorbell sensor - DB100Z

So I was able to pick up an Ingersoll Rand DB100Z doorbell sensor, and attempting to get it hooked into my vera edge. The edge can associate to it fine, but it’s not clear to me how to convince it that it’s (effectively) a button or a scene trigger vs. the generic mode of [On|Off] switching it seems to want to do. Anyone have any suggestions on how to get this working right?

Have a look at the device’s advanced tab and see what device type it has been setup as. It sounds like, in your case it has setup as a binary switch. I doubt that this will work.

I suspect, though I have no experience with this device, that it will need to be configured as a binary sensor. To do that, change the fields to match the following and then Save.

Device_Type: urn:schemas-micasaverde-com:device:DoorSensor:1
Device_File: D_DoorSensor1.xml

Just for more reference I have a thread on this too: LINK

Tried setting this, as well as D_DoorSensor1.json, and rang the doorbell a few times - no luck. I’m going to guess it’s reporting the trigger differently

For the record (not sure I mentioned it above) I’m on a Vera Edge, so it should work (at least the battery information is coming through)

I also bought one of these sensors before reading this board (my mistake, I own it)

I have put a request into vera to support it, I have had an email exchange with an engineer at Vera, they say its in development. If you want this, you may want to send it a request to vera, squeaky wheel gets greased:)
