I know behind the scenes Micasaverde is working very hard to deliver the product they promised but this it’s getting quite ridiculous. The replacement dongles everyone received might also have issues?!?
I don’t know how much more I can take of this. I’ve spent my entire weekend troubleshooting this product only to realize I’ve been wasting my time. When does it end? When do I get to stop being a beta tester and begin to enjoy the products I’ve spent so much money on… ???
I hear ya… apparently this is a sigma/zensys/aeon issue and not MCV. By far the most frustrating problem I have are the dongle lockups. Mine locked up 3 times yesterday alone. Aeon labs is now heavily involved in the issue, they will be checking out my dongle to try and replicate the problem. Hopefully some good will come out of this.
I know MCV has issues of their own, which I think they are working to resolve… it is apparent they have been present less on the forums which I can only attribute to them actually working really hard on these issues.
I know it is frustrating… I think we will see some good progress soon.
A product hasn’t tested my patience like this before. Usually I would toss it in the garbage and move on, but they make it so damn appetizing! I’m sure their just as frustrated as the end-user.
Vera is like that all-star co-worker who’s never on time for work.
I believe the announcement said that an unacceptable number of new dongles have this problem. Those of you that have tried the new dongles -does this problem of freezing occur immediately so that you know you have a bad dongle early on? or doesn’t manifest itself sometime later on?
I understand this is a frustrating issues for both sides and I hope MCV can get to the bottom of it soon.
Now – I have a replacement dongle in hand, (am I glad I checked the forum just now) – should I return the new dongle? Should I replace my old one and send back the old one and hope that my new one won’t be “worst” ?? What should I do?
As I have 14 days before I get charged for the replacement dongle…
I’m just going to hold on to all my dongles until this is sorted out. Save on shipping for everyone. It’s been past 14 days anyways because I live in Canada. I’ll send the appropriate dongle back when things get sorted out. I might end up having to send back 4 dongles instead of two.
I thought mine were working but after I took off the auto reboot I have set for every day on one of my Veras it only took 3 days before it locked up and I had to drive out to the places and unplug it and it started working again. I put the auto reboot back on until it’s figured out and I have to get new dogles again.
unplug it and plug it back in, sometimes that works…
if not you will have to unplug it, press the reset button on the bottom of the dongle, and then plug it back in, this still should NOT make you lose your network
its an easy 10 second fix, but you have to be local to vera obviously.
