??? Just started using Vera with a GE Outdoor module and a GE Dimmer Switch. It seems like the dimmer switch gets polled for status and it reporting it back okay, but it seems like the GE outdoor module is not being polled? When I look at the jobs log, it shows the dimmer being polled just fine. Any ideas? I’ve even tried to set automatic configure to yes… and still a no go. Any help would be really appreciated!
I have one of these and it’s being polled fine. What happens when you go under the device and hit POLL NOW?
Move it closer to Vera and try again, and you can also do a repair network and let that run, and it should poll just like a normal powered device.
DoH! thanks for the hints. When I hit Poll now i get the red error. Because I’ve been turning on and off the swtich with no problem, i figured it was in range and working fine. It seems maybe that when you do a command, it sends with more range then with polling. In either case, when i moved the module closer it seems to be getting status okay.
Move the module closer if repair network doesn’t fix the issue, and then move it further away and repair again. You can also try and do the “update neighbors” button and see if that helps. Worst case, plop another module inbetween and you should be good to go or move vera closer.
If you don’t use Vera as the main router but have wireless, I’d plop Vera in Wifi CLIENT mode, this way the WIFI on Vera acts as the WAN and grabs an IP from your router over wireless instead of being tethered to RJ45.
This allowed me to move Vera more in a central location in the house and then I repaired network and everything worked much better with those devices on the “fringe”
