I am thinking of installing a Fortrezz water sensor and shut off valve to protect my house from damage should my water heater or washer leak. Has anyone had success using Fortrezz’ products?
Also - has anyone confirmed that Fortrezz’ new water sensor the WWA-02 works with Vera 2?
Anyone have an opinion whether this is a better solution then using a dedicated unit like the Floodstop Washing Machine Valve Shutoff Kit?
I did recently have the wwa02 shutoff valve installed on the main line. It joined the vera2 network easily. Once I got used to the on/off state (on=water is shut off, off=water is flowing) all was good. It activates very quickly when triggered, although it “reports busy” for several seconds on the dashboard.
Works well though, from what I can tell.
The fortrezz siren strobe, on the other hand, is a finicky piece of junk.
Edit: mistook the model number in my original post. I do not use the sensor, just the valve.
I have had the valve for over a year and it works great. I use it for any leaks detected by the fortrezz sensors (wwa sensors) and also like the ability to shut the water off when I’m working on some plumbing/remodeling, and instead of having my lovely girlfriend go down to the basement and turn the water on so I can check for leaks, I just whip out the droid and turn on the valve while I watch to make sure there are no leaks
One thing that is very sensitive is the built-in sensor for local water detection near the valve. In very high humidity, this trips causing the valve to close depending on where you locate it. Overall, this is one of the coolest Z-Wave products in my home.
