Do Ecolink door sensors blink occasionally?

Hi Everyone,
I just set up my Vera Edge with 16 Ecolink door-window sensors. Everything appears to be working fine. However, last night, in the corner of my eye, I saw the red LED on one of sensors blink…

Is this normal? Is Vera doing a poll or something and the sensor is responding?

The blink occurs whenever communication is active. For a battery device, the device is waking up and sending info the Vera. The LED should also blink whenever the sensor is tripped.
