DIY Motor Controllers?

I’m trying to figure out a DIY way to be able to control an electric motor from Vera. I think once that is figured out fairly inexpensively, the sky is the limit to what we can accomplish in our homes.

I’ve seen z-wave motor controllers online for minimum of $130 and that’s not even including a motor.

There has to be a way to use an on/off z-wave switch to turn on another device and operate a motor… Am I just dreaming here?

What sort of motor are you wanting to control? A tube motor? AC or DC?
