Is there a standared way to display a device state variable in Imperihome? (I’m just starting to play around with the app.) From a recent changelog it appears that Imperihome supports the Variable Container plug-in…but that app has recently been pulled by its author and is not currently available to end uers.
Not that I’ve ever been able to find.
@JoeyD …lol you are everywhere on this forum! To answer your question I haven’t seen anything either nor did I know about that app. However I know my way around the rest of imperihome. They also have a beta google+ page to get the most recent updates and stuff.
The Multi-String plug-in should work…
Yes I’m currently using this for my ROOMBA status.
Just curious… how would you use this?

So maybe if I had battery percentage on my door sensor and door lock displayed in Imperihome. Currently those values aren’t loaded but they are obviously recorded in Vera UI.
I’m using PLEG, inputs, device properties to read the info, then also using PLEG condition that repeats to apply an action to apply a new variable to the multistring plugin.
That variable is
{(XXXXXX)}
with the XXXX’s the Name of the device property you created.

Sorry… i’m dense. give me the actual example. Does this mean (like post above) that you can customize a dashboard icon using this to show a different value, like battery percentage? Or maybe chance a picture?

ImperiHome doesn’t support the thinking cleaner plugin, but I wanted to get the data to show up in Imperihome. The Multistring does work in Imperihome. Multistring plugin can copy the data (using PLEG) from thinking cleaner to multistring and then I use it in Imperihome. Here is a screen shot (top) with the multistring data and a custom icon in Imperihome. It can display 5 lines but I’m leaving 2 blank and only using three.
Got it! Now I have to think about what I might use this for…
You can use it to display your own forumula or custom data, you can copy the data from somewhere else… It’s up to you.
I have a similer problem with Imperihome not supporting the OpenSprinkler plugin. I have used a Multiswitch and tied my zones to the plugin and make a few custom options/buttons (sending http commands to opensprinkler when a button on the multiswitch is turned on or off). I might also use this miltistring plugin to display data like which zone is running or when the next scheduled run is, or …

ooh… i use OS as well!!! honestly, since i use Imperihome as my wall mounted tablets, but also have PCs everywhere… i haven’t really cared so much about OS integration… but i may do this now - just because i can Love a few screen shots when/if you have no time. no rush.

Well I haven’t gotten to far on it yet. I still want to integrate the Data display, last night I was palying in the Opensprinkler API and testing its limits and coming up with ideas. I also want to change out the ICONs with some on and off sprinkler Icon’s but they need to be created and submitted from what I understand to get a on and off change.
But here’s what I have now. Really it’s just a link to the APP, multiswitch for each zone, and one button that sends a http command for run once program and when switch is turned off it cancels everything.

Thanks for sharing. Seems what Imperihome should do is instead of creating new icons that represent on/off states… they just give you the ability to attach two custom images to a dashboard tile… that swapped with state. that way users could do anything they wanted.
I’m guessing that’s how Fibaro does it, as i was on their forum the other day “borrowing” icons … their users have created some really nice pics!
Yea, I’m sure it’s been suggested but I’m gonna also do that today.
Other thing is I’m using a Multiswitch right now for starting the zones, but I could also use scenes with Http commands to OP also. So keep that in mind. That along with the data of which if any zones are running would be nice.

You can use your own icons but imperihome doesn’t allow the multi state icons unless you submit it to them. Wish they did.

But you can fake it a bit. See what i did for the speaker icons on/off state. Use the lighbulb multistate with the on/off switch, then change out the actual bulb to whatever static image you want to use.
That’s what I thought I had read before. I just submitted a request on their Beta forum. Maybe I’ll get a fix or at least a better reason why.
Is there any way to change the font color that Imperihome uses with the MultiString device? I know you can change the font color of the Imperihome label, but the font color used on the values? It uses a light gray, which is hard to see on my cheap tablet I use for my wall mounts. Using the multistring app in Vera is great for returning values of devices or creating your own status. I’ve attached a screen shot of my security page. Once tile shows the page title and a value from multistring showing the alarm state. The other tiles are my arming options. The only other things on Imperihome I wish I could do with multistring is remove the icon on the left, it takes up room on the amount of characters I can use on my string.
