Having installed a Fibaro 2-channel relay 3 icons are displayed, one that relates to the complete unit and one for each of the channels.
If one looks into the “advanced” tag, the first has an id of (say) 76 with a parent of 1 and the others (say) 77 & 76 and 78 & 76 respectively.
If I were to change the parent id of 77 and 78 to 1, could I then delete 76 leaving 77 and 78 in place and operating as before?

No you cannot do that. The 77 and 78 are child devices to the 76. If you change the values they probably get reset or it will stop working.

Stay out of the Advanced tab unless you know what you are doing or you really trust what someone else tells you …
There is bad information out there … so you have to discern what is good.
