Is there way to disarm the GE Nx8e system in Vera 3, I can quick arm and quick stay via the plugin, but wanted to setup a trigger that if the quickset zwave door is unlocked via unlock pin code entered on the lock , the alarm system is disarmed etc. etc.lights thermostat…
Also any advise on getting the most recent logs from the panels activities, my plug in does not show the logs from the panel.
I was not able to scan the zones or users and get info, but could add manually and working.

Double-check that you have enabled the message “Log Message” (hex 0A) in the panel configuration. If you are still experiencing an issue then I need you to capture a Luup log and send it to me.
Since JavaScript is involved there may also be a dependency on which browser you are using and whether you are on Vera’s LAN or remote. Experiment with these variables too.

You’re not the first to report this. Unfortunately since it is usually newcomers who experience this problem, they are unable to help me to reproduce it, so it goes unsolved. You’ve already figured out the workaround, good.

Thanks for the offer. First port of call would be a Luup log of a zone scan. Ensure that you’ve enabled Debug to Luup Log on the Configure tab first.
Other things I will need to know: the browser(s) you used; whether you are doing this from the LAN or from the Internet; how many instances of the top-level device you have (should be 1); version of the plugin you have installed.
After reading thru the multiple post I decide to reroute and cleanup my USB/Serial cable to see if that helps with the issue. After separating and organizing the cables now I can read the user configuration without any issues. The only item I still have trouble now is when I request to Arm the alarm, then disarm, then arm again within a short period (< 5 min) I start getting a bunch of drop packages and checksum failures - to me it look like the communication between the alarm and Vera gets overwhelm and the only way I can recover that is to reload Luup.

I’m running UI5, all commands local from Vera but I get same results from HomeBuddy Android application. I have a GE NX8E - with built in serial port - with 5 doors and 3 motion detectors - all wired

User scanning does not work again, looking at the lots I see the following error in the UserScan function - after reloading Luup still does not work. Partial logs are included below.

elordude, partial logs are partially helpful. Clearly there’s something around line 1331 which needs hardening against an unspecified error situation that started before the capture. I promise to stare at that line of code and see if I can imagine how it’s failing. Meanwhile, your homework: more complete logs will provide a more complete picture. Preferably start capturing just before you attempt whatever it is that is failing (such as visiting the Users tab).
