Disappearing Camera

Hi everyone! I have been silently reading posts for the past month or so that I have had the Vera 2 (UI4) - and now have a puzzling problem.

I just installed the Foscam 8918 - no problems at all, following the directions people have shared. Even got the various motion controls working!

But - now the camera has disappeared from Vera! The first time I noticed it (this is all over the course of an hour or two) I went ahead and set it up again. However, this is now the second time tonight it has disappeared! Does anyone know where it would have gone? It no longer shows up on my dashboard, or through the app (which was working nicely through Automator).

Does anyone have any advice?

I just receive my vera 3 and foscam ip 8918 cameras today and got vera running and it auto detected the foscam. Sweet!

A couple minutes later the camera disappeared and I cannot add it back for the life of me!

Are the camera’s setup with a static ip or is it issues via a dhcp from your router? If it is via dhcp, the ip address of the camera could have changed and that is why the camera disappeared. The first thing I would do is set a static IP on the cameras. Then I would go into the camera on vera and change the ip address to the static ip (as long as the camera is still available in vera). I would also remove any mac address in the mac address field of the camera settings in vera as well.

Hi -

Thanks for the suggestion! It gets its IP from my router, but I have the router set to assign it the same IP each time. It has been responsive on the ip directly without a problem. I added it a 3rd time, and have not had problems since. Maybe it was something I did. Have my fingers crossed it will stay!

:(I have the same problem with a VERA3. I had a picture from a Panasonic Camera working and a Foscam camera. After about an hour they disappeared and I cannot get them back. I put my VERA2 back online and the cameras are there without having to change anything. The IP addresses of the cameras have not changed for days. I also had some apps that I installed disappear. They show up on the list of installed apps, but have disappeared from the dashboard. Does anyone have any other suggestions or comments about this issue. Thanks!
