Disable a device

I have a device (IP cam) that I would like to disable until needed. How? There’s a Disable checkbox under advanced settings but it doesn’t seem to do anything.

The only solution that I found was to connect the camera’s power through an appliance module. Don’t want pictures? Turn it off.

Thanks futzle, I did that for this camera back in my x-10 days. But no setting in u15 to disable a device?
