Dimmer that immediately shuts off and on vs. ramp on/up off/down?

I’m about to pull the trigger for about 15 switches, I tried out the GE/Jasco dimmer but not sure I like the ramp on / up and off/ down feature. It’s new/remodel construction walls are open so nows my chance to get something that works. Any thoughts?

Thanks,

You can adjust that using the advanced settings. I have a GE dimmer in my guest bath that was confusing people so I changed it so its instant on and off locally and dim via app if need be

Can you set it to automatically turn on to a certain brightness? I.e. 65% no matter what brightness it was shut off at?

I think that’s more of a vera problem then a switch problem.

I had many GE switches in more then one house which came from my local lowes when they were cheap (I think they went up in price but haven’t added any new features). I’m now switching them out slowly for switches with instant status and more features for the same price. If your doing a house I would try and convince yourself to just go with a switch that has instant status built in. Dragons can be had for around the same price with more features in them now. I personally have been upgrading to the HomeSeer Switches with double and triple tap features in them along with instant status. I have the switches turn on to the last brightness but if i press UP or ON again it then goes to full brightness. So I can have last dimmed if its night but one more click up runs a scene that instantly ramps it up to 100%.

I thought that you can’t utilize the homeseer double and triple tap without having home seer. I too was going to get those switches but thought that I couldn’t utilize all the features. Is that not true?
