Dimmer levels

I noticed that when my dimmer is at its lowest level (which is about 10%, I guess) it shows as being OFF by Vera. I understand that 10% is closer to 0% than to 25%, but still claiming it’s OFF is misleading…
I’m not sure how this is reported by other automation systems - maybe it is common practice. Or maybe there is better way to represent level and allow changing it with little overhead…

Noticed the same things with my dimmers. Definatley a bug!

We’ll a slider in addition to the 25/50/75 buttons. That way we don’t need to ‘round’, so if the level isn’t 0/25/50/75/100, we simply won’t highlight any button, but you’ll have a slider to see the level: http://bugs.micasaverde.com/view.php?id=365

I’ve been looking for info on this and I think it is worse.

Vera seems to not distinguish between a dimmer set to its lowest level and the dimmer being off. It shows off in the UI and all the variables in the advanced tab show that the device is off and the dim level is zero.

But the actual device is definitely not off as can be seen by the status light on the device and the min dimming.

Is there any way in Vera and luup to detect if a device is at a minimum dimming level?

I need to try to fix lights that people leave accidentally dimmed so that their internal target level for next on is not going to be some really low dim level.

Any ideas?
