For a while I have complained about UI7 device name restrictions. As I have been using ALTUI for some time, I noticed that these restrictions are not enforced on ALUTI. Making me thing the restrictions are just UI7 GUI checks but not core restrictions.
The two big ones:
Device names must be less then 20 characters
Device name must be unique for entire system
As I was doing some clean up of devices and rooms, I noticed that ALTUI does not prevent these two rules
For example, I have gotten in the practice of naming all devices with room name in it.
Is this going to cause issues down the road? Will it cause issues going forward? Before I do change for all devices (50+) wanted to see what others have done and think.

good question, I do not know if it would cause issues or not. I also hope it is just a UI restriction on their side
