Developer needed - Garadget plugin

Hi, I’m Denis - Creator of Garadget (http://www.garadget.com/) - open source smart garage door controller.
Now that I’m done sending out the crowdfunding rewards, I’m back on integrations train…

Garadgets needs Vera plugin and I’m writing to see if there’s any community interest in developing it.
Protocol description: GitHub - Garadget/firmware: Firmware for Garadget device

Developer units are available for qualified contributors.

Looks like a good product. A lot of us here in Veraland already have bespoke garage door solutions, so I don’t know how many developers you can attract with the promise of scratching an itch.

I took a look at the API. Here are some of the specific hurdles that you’ll face as a result of your platform choice:

Particle relies on OAuth. That’s a good choice but I don’t know of anyone who has tried to make OAuth go on Vera. There are libraries so it may be just a case of integrating one.

Particle’s event callback scheme seems to rely on the cloud posting back HTTP requests to interested parties. Vera is behind NAT in most cases and not reachable. I suppose that you could have Particle post to Vera’s cloud servers but I doubt it knows Vera’s not-quite-REST cloud protocol. Consequently a Vera Garadget plugin will probably need to poll to get status updates.

A protocol that works over the LAN might be more palatable to Vera users. Don’t think Garadget has that yet?
