Denon Plugin

Hi, I am new to Vera and have a Denon AVR-X3000, but the app doesn’t seem to work? I seems to fail on LUA startup?
Any help would be great thanks…

On the Vera, in the settings for the receiver, have you put in the IP address of your receiver?

You will also need to make sure that your receiver always gets the same IP address from your router. You can do this either through static addressing or pre-assigned DHCP addresses through your router.

Same issue, communication error…

It works with my Denon Receiver, but I do often get the “fail on LUA startup” message. But it goes away. It may be related to my Denon since every no and again I have to tell the official Denon app to allow it to power it on/off remotely, it seems to disappear from my Denon app until I do. Tt is not visible on the network until I manually turn it on, try the app again, give it permission again, etc. This seems to coincide with the Vera plug-in not giving me the Lua start up error again.

Yes, this was my experience as well. I actually removed the denon device from Vera and controlled it via http commands in luup as that seemed to be easier. But even with that approach, I ran into scenarios where an http command (which worked just fine hundreds of times) would fail. Powering off and on the Denon restored everything to normal operation. So I agree I think the Denon is the cause…not vera or the plug-in. I have a AVR-2112CI if that helps…and it’s always had an issue where it occasionally (once every couple months) just powers off…this was the case prior to Vera integration.

The power on/off issue is well known and talked about in the thread for the denon. Powering the receiver on/off always fixed it for me. IT’s a problem in how the denon manages it’s network connection.
